Twelve Years of Grace Beauty: Growing Up Together With the NZ Beauty Industry

Twelve years ago, Grace Beauty was born.

Like any newborn, it started with a dream, a lot of hope, and absolutely no roadmap for what lay ahead. There were exciting first steps, sleepless nights, lessons learned the hard way, and moments where we wondered if we were doing it all right.

In many ways, running a business is not unlike raising a child.

In the early years, you’re simply trying to survive. Every new customer feels like a milestone. Every order is celebrated. Every challenge feels enormous. You learn as you go, adapting, growing, and finding your feet.

As the years pass, that child begins to develop its own personality. It becomes more confident, more resilient, and more certain of who it is. Looking back, that’s exactly what has happened with Grace Beauty.

What started as a small business with a handful of brands and customers has evolved into a company privileged to partner with hundreds of beauty professionals throughout New Zealand. Along the way, we’ve welcomed new brands, introduced innovative treatments, expanded into wellness, navigated changing markets, survived a global pandemic, and witnessed an industry transform before our eyes.

The beauty industry today looks very different from the one we entered twelve years ago.

Consumers are more educated. Therapists are more skilled. Technology is advancing at a remarkable pace. Wellness and skin health have become deeply connected. The way people shop, learn, and engage with brands has changed dramatically.

Through all of these changes, one thing has remained constant: relationships.

No business reaches twelve years alone.

To every salon owner, skin therapist, spa manager, clinic owner, pharmacist, wellness practitioner, and customer who has purchased from us, supported us, challenged us, trusted us, and grown alongside us—we want to say thank you.

As any parent knows, twelve years old is a fascinating age. A child is no longer little, yet there is still so much potential ahead. They are beginning to discover who they are and what they are capable of becoming.

That feels a lot like where Grace Beauty is today.

We are proud of how far we’ve come, but even more excited about where we’re going. We see a future where beauty, skin health, wellness, education, and technology continue to merge. A future where salons and clinics play an even more important role in helping people look and feel their best. A future where we continue to innovate, evolve, and support our industry in meaningful ways.

The first twelve years have taught us many lessons, but perhaps the most important is this:

It’s about people.

The relationships built.
The trust earned.
The lives touched along the way.

As we celebrate our 12th birthday, we do so with immense gratitude and appreciation for every person who has been part of this journey.
